These Happy Golden Years!
You have noticed that your pet has some gray hairs on his muzzle. You have noticed a slight haze in his eyes. He is not as spry as before. Then you realize it has been 7 or 8 years since your pet was a wiggly baby. Welcome to the senior/geriatric years of pet ownership!
At Aurora Hills Animal Hospital, we want to help you embrace this stage in your pet’s life. Our senior pets do have a few more needs than our younger pets, but they still have a ton of love to give in return for the extra care they require. Because our senior pets are aging more quickly than a human (6 to 7 times faster), we recommend twice-yearly examinations so that we can more quickly detect and treat medical problems. Based on your pet’s medical condition, we may recommend more frequent examinations and/or lab work.
